![]() This book centers, more than anything, around their love for each other. The reason? Things were repetitive for Bianca and Gray didn't shy away from showing the full extent of her situation just to avoid being "boring" which I applaud.īianca's character grows significantly in this book which I very much enjoyed, as does Lucas. While it was somewhat slow at the beginning, it wasn't boring- while reading it, I could completely understand why things seemed at a standstill and why the events were playing out the way they were, sometimes even seeming repetitive. I slipped into Bianca's mind often and about half way through, I found myself unable to put the book down. Hourglass pulled me in far more than Evernight or Stargazer did, each one improving compared to the last. I thoroughly appreciate when authors take this route rather than the other and it made me enjoy the book even more.Īlso notable to this book is how much I think Gray's writing has improved. She inserts reminders as needed- enough to spark the memory even in someone who hasn't read them in awhile- but doesn't do an entire intro of My name is this, this has happened to me, this is where I'm at. Hourglass picks up smoothly from where Stargazer leaves off but what Gray does not do is waste time recapping everything that's happened as though the reader didn't read the first 2 books in the series. Yet no matter how far they travel, Bianca can't escape her destiny.īianca has always believed their love could survive anything. Soon, Bianca and Lucas are on the run again, pursued not only by Black Cross, but by the powerful leaders of Evernight. ![]() But when Black Cross captures her friend-the vampire Balthazar-hiding is no longer an option. Bianca must hide her supernatural heritage or risk certain death at their hands. I think this map needs to be upgraded, but upgrade it very carefully.Bianca will risk everything to be with Lucas.Īfter escaping from Evernight Academy, the vampire boarding school where they met, Bianca and Lucas take refuge with Black Cross, a fanatical group of vampire hunters. Untill we realise how the balance works in Tote I would not urge jb to upgrade HG. I hope Tote will have same good balance in general as it (is) was in HOF. ![]() I think there are few maps which gives almost same chances to 5 factions. Inferno with 400 imps can take away enemy mana at the final battle, but hard to break.ĭungeon hard to break, but 3 towns with artifact merchant each is a big advantage. Sylvan is very strong there, good army, breaking fast.Īcademy with little luck with resources can be fastbreaking and strong. As I see it only heaven and (thanks to god) dwarf has fewer chance than others. The other thing why I like HG is that I think it has great balance. You need to watch your every step, and not only your main hero's steps. How can u manage the hero chains, exploit maximum from the map to be ready to break on 3rd day of 4th week latest. For me there is only one big question at this level: should I take abandoned mines first or take ore and wood mine before)īut as always the devil is in the deatils. (Even tough I solve town taking differently to others, I do not use refugee. The route for your main hero is similar in each game. In one hand I agree that the strategy for each game is very similar. This map gave, gives and will give me so much fun I can not really tell. First of all thanks for jb239 to create hour(rune)glass.
